Although plastic welding machines have many advantages in working, not all plastics can be ultrasonically welded. Most of the materials suitable for ultrasonic welding are thermoplastics, which are softened by heat, flow, and solidified in case of cold. It is also impossible to change the polymer structure of the polymer, and the thermosetting plastic cannot be ultrasonically welded. In addition, when we use plastic welding machines to weld plastic, we will encounter two attributes, namely compatibility and adaptability.

      Plastic welding machines can be divided into two types, one for adjacent welding (near field, close distance) and the other for transmission welding (far field, long distance). Near field welding is used for plastic films, sheets, and molded articles. This welding generally has a contact surface of the weldment with the horn of less than 10 mm. The so-called far field welding means that the distance from the contact surface of the horn to the welded portion is usually 10 mm or more. The various types of squid thermoplastics have different properties, and their welding adaptability is also different. Some materials are suitable for near-field welding, and some materials are adapted to the far field. After our experiments, it is known that nylon is a material that transmits poor vibration, so it is not suitable for far field welding.
